Breathe

Something that I tell my clients all the time is Breathe! The art of relaxing is a learned skill. Many people do not know what it really feels like to have their mind and body really relax. One of the tools to help teach your body to do that is to sit in a quiet place and count 10 breaths - in and out counts as one breath. They do not have to be big deep breaths just calm even and regular. What usually happens is that by about the 6th or 7th breath the heart rate slows, your body relaxes and you can even lose count. Don't worry if it takes more than 10 breaths to feel the relaxation to begin. It takes practice! As your practice grows your body will respond quicker, stress melts away and your mind begins to calm. Your problems my not have gone away but you will be in a much better place to handle it.
