GRATITUDE AND ABUNDANCE

Do you ever have the feeling that things are not going well in your life, that every where you turn there is another negative thought, person, or experience happening? The key to changing your circumstances and creating abundance is inviting the power of gratitude and attraction.
Start a gratitude journal. It will change your world. Everyday before bed write down at least 10 things that you love and are grateful for.  If it has been a particularly difficult day it can be as simple as writing down I am grateful to have made it through today. I am grateful for my family, my health , the air I breathe, the roof over my head, the hug or smile from a friend and so on. You get the idea. After you are done writing those 10 things in your journal you really want to reinforce the power of those positive thoughts. Take your journal to the bathroom, close the door and look into your eyes in the mirror and repeat what you have written in your journal out loud to yourself.
By acknowledging what you are grateful for in your journal, you will be a deliberate attractor of positive vibrations. If you are looking at the things that you are grateful for and love, you will not be looking at the negative and the things that you do not like. You begin to focus on what you do have, rather that what you don't. As your thoughts become more positive you will start attracting more positive thoughts, people and circumstances into your life. Changing your experience of the world from lack luster and mundane to wonderful and abundant.

Stretch for your day

Let's get those shoulders away from your ears. Here's a stretch for the tops of your shoulders/side of neck. On a firm chair using good posture, sit on your hands (helps to keep your shoulders down and level) keeping your face forward, gently lean your head to one side (think touch ear to shoulder motion) until you feel a gentle stretch (if it hurts, don't do it) and hold for a few breath cycles (in and out). Return to center. Pause. Repeat on other side. Pausing for a few breath cycles and to feel the muscles relaxing.

Breathe

Something that I tell my clients all the time is Breathe! The art of relaxing is a learned skill. Many people do not know what it really feels like to have their mind and body really relax. One of the tools to help teach your body to do that is to sit in a quiet place and count 10 breaths - in and out counts as one breath. They do not have to be big deep breaths just calm even and regular. What usually happens is that by about the 6th or 7th breath the heart rate slows, your body relaxes and you can even lose count. Don't worry if it takes more than 10 breaths to feel the relaxation to begin. It takes practice! As your practice grows your body will respond quicker, stress melts away and your mind begins to calm. Your problems my not have gone away but you will be in a much better place to handle it.

A stretch for your day.

Greetings bloggers! Don't try and tell me as we sit here at our computers, that your arms and wrists don't get tired, sore or achy every once in a while. So here's a stretch I do every day and I swear by it! Give it a try sometime.

Start with one arm straight (not bent) out in front of you. with other hand gently press palm to palm at the hand/finger joints and gently pull (extent) your hand towards you. Pausing to feel the stretch between. Repeat for other side of forearm only this time palm to backside of hand and gently flex hand towards you. Again pause to feel the stretch. Repeat slowly!

Massage Therapy Benefits and Roles

Many of today's health problems can benefit from massage therapy because the manipulation of soft tissues affects so many of our bodily systems to facilitate the body's own healing powers.
The benefits of massage are extensive and affect the physical body as well as the mind and spirit. Massage therapy treatments will have a therapeutic affect and improve health by acting directly on the muscular, nervous, circulatory and lymphatic (immune) systems and even our emotional well being.

Massage treatments aim to:
  • Develop, maintain, rehabilitate or improve physical function - Massage therapy has become a staple of many professional athletes and sports teams training regimens to enhance athletic performance and heal injury. But not just athletes. Lifestyle factors, such as long work hours, repetitive motions, or physically taxing tasks, lead many different people to seek the assistance of a massage therapist. A seemingly minor injury can have a profound impact on a person's ability to stay physically active, participate fully in life, or even make a living. Massage therapy can be one of the ways of preventing a lasting negative outcome.
  • Relieve or prevent physical dysfunction and pain - Some massage therapy techniques are specifically recommended for sore muscle tissues. An overly sore muscle cannot function properly. By alleviating or preventing pain, dysfunction can be combated. Massage therapy releases endorphin (natures pain killers) to help mange pain naturally.
  • Relax tight and tense muscles - Many people don't realize how much a tight muscle impacts on vital things such as posture. A tense muscle can throw off your body's balance. Before long, muscles that were not initially tight begin to tense as they compensate for other parts of the body. It becomes a chain reaction that can spread far from the initial problem spot. A talented massage therapist can identify the source of the problem and start working to alleviate the problem where it started.
  • Improve circulation, recovery time and immune system function - The movements of massage cause blood to flush in and out of muscles and joints. This flushing process - enhancing circulation in the affected areas - can, in some cases, aid recovery time from injuries. With this high blood pressure can be lowered and reduce heart rate.
  • Reduce overall stress - We're all becoming more aware of the role stress plays in health. People who are stressed, all other things being equal, are less healthy than people who are relaxed. Stress, for example, increases the risk of heart disease. Massage therapy is an effective and enjoyable way to reduce stress.

Massage therapy is also effective in the control of pain, chronic or acute, in stress reduction, and in creating a sense of relaxation and well-being. Massage therapy plays in integral role in preventative health care. A registered, skilled practitioner can become an important and integral part of your health care team.
